Biometa Testing Services & Disclaimers

1. Functional Nature & No Medical Diagnosis

  • Wellness & Functional Purpose Only: Biometa tests offered through FreshStart testing and Uplift Osteopathy Inc. are functional bioenergetic/wellness screenings, not medical or clinical diagnostic tests.

  • No Medical Diagnosis or Treatment: Biometa test results do not diagnose, treat, prevent, cure, or mitigate any medical disease, illness, allergy, or clinical condition. They are intended solely to provide bioenergetic information to support holistic wellness and lifestyle choices.

  • Consultation with a Physician: Test results should not replace professional medical evaluation, diagnosis, or advice. Always consult a licensed healthcare practitioner before changing any medical treatment, diet, or health regimen based on testing results.

2. Third-Party Testing, Reliability, & Repeatability

  • Independent Laboratory Processing: Biometa tests are processed and analyzed independently by third-party laboratories, specifically FreshStart and Daphne Labs.

  • Reliance on Laboratory Data: Uplift Osteopathy Inc. acts solely as a provider/facilitator for these tests. All claims, research, methodology, software, reliability, and repeatability studies are the sole responsibility of, and relying upon, FreshStart and Daphne Labs.

3. Non-Refundable & Final Sale Policy

Welcome to Uplift Osteopathy (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using our website, booking appointments, or receiving our manual therapy services—including osteopathic manual therapy and any other hands-on modalities—you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Scope of Practice & No Medical Diagnosis

  • Not Medical Advice: The information provided on this website and during therapy sessions is for educational and wellness purposes only.

  • No Diagnosis or Medical Treatment: Manual therapy services (including osteopathic manual therapy) provided at Uplift Osteopathy Inc do not constitute medical diagnosis, medical treatment, or prescription for any medical condition, disease, or injury.

  • Consultation with Physicians: Our services are complementary to standard healthcare. Clients are advised to seek the advice of a qualified physician or regulated primary healthcare provider for any medical diagnoses, treatment plans, or emergency health conditions.

2. Assumption of Risk & Side Effects

  • Potential Side Effects: Manual therapy involves physical manipulation and soft-tissue work. You acknowledge and accept that treatment may result in temporary post-treatment side effects, including but not limited to mild soreness, fatigue, temporary stiffness, or minor localized inflammation.

  • Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law in Ontario, Uplift Osteopathy Inc, its practitioners, and employees shall not be held liable or responsible for any adverse reactions, temporary side effects, or injuries resulting from treatments provided, provided such treatments were conducted in accordance with professional standards.

3. Professional Liability Insurance

  • Insurance Coverage: Uplift Osteopathy Inc maintains active Professional Liability Insurance coverage up to $5,000,000 CAD in accordance with Canadian industry standards.

4. Informed Consent & Client Responsibilities

  • Health History Accuracy: Clients are required to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date health history details before treatment and must inform the practitioner of any changes in health status or medications prior to future sessions.

  • Consent to Treat: Treatment will only proceed with the client's voluntary informed consent. Clients retain the right to stop or modify treatment at any time during a session.

5. Appointments, Cancellations, & Payment

  • Cancellation Policy: We request at least 24 hours notice for any appointment cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed appointments ("no-shows") may be subject to a fee of 100% of the scheduled service cost.

  • Payment Terms: Payment for services is due at the time of treatment. We accept credit card, e-transfer, cash.

  • Insurance Direct Billing & Receipts: While receipts with appropriate credentials will be provided upon payment, insurance coverage and reimbursement are strictly between the client and their insurance provider.

6. Privacy & Personal Health Information

  • PHIPA Compliance: We respect your privacy. Personal and health information collected through this website or in-clinic is handled, stored, and protected in accordance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and applicable Canadian privacy legislation (PIPEDA).

7. Refusal of Service & Professional Boundaries

  • Zero Tolerance Policy: We reserve the right to refuse service or immediately terminate a session if a client engages in inappropriate, disrespectful, abusive, or sexually suggestive behavior. Full payment for the scheduled time will still be required in such circumstances.

8. Website Content & Intellectual Property
